Serene Cuisine dot org, Under Construction

I don’t typically use color. It takes a loooong time to set color in each frame of one of these animations. Then you have to deal with colors overlapping each other correctly within each frame, it’s just a major headache. I totally prefer my usual quick-and-dirty method for dbm animations. However, for the sake of professionalism, I decided to go semi-all-out. I’m currently designing a site for my friend Anna (who is an amazing chef if anyone is in need of a caterer or personal chef), and I wanted to make an atypical under-construction place holder. …I also wanted it to double as a dbm episode, so, you know, two birds, one cartoon.
Additionally, you’ll notice I’ve updated the left sidebar to include another side project I’ve had brewing. This would be the most preoccupying factor in the reduction of drawn by mouse posts. Rebecca Mayes hooked me up with the editor of her old site Game People, and we’ve been doing some test reviews using the drawn by mouse style to see how I’d fit in over there. I’m pretty happy with the results and the feedback so far has been good!

Guest Strip Animation: Mike Gioia

Today’s update comes from Mike Gioia who does an amazingly dark webcomic called Apokalips.
This bee thing still cracks me up. I thinks it’s equal parts hilariousness and some strange enjoyment I’m getting from seeing another artist do a drawn by mouse cartoon. Either way you cut it, Mike just bought me another week of slacking off on a new animation. Thanks, Mike!
